What a Battle Team is
The part of Boot Camp you miss most, kept for the long haul
Boot Camp was a sprint. The Christian life is a marathon, and the marathon has its own enemy. The Fathers called it the noonday demon: the slow gray drift that shows up months later sounding like “I’m doing fine on my own.”
A Battle Team is a small band of three to six men, sometimes up to eight, committed to deeper honesty and more frequent contact. There is no new curriculum. It is the daily call you already know, a regular table, and brothers on both sides of you who will notice when you go quiet.
Battle Teams offer what the old life never did: community, structure, direction, and real accountability among men who have walked the same road.

The Daily Call
“Did you keep your commitments yesterday? What is the most important thing you have to do today?”
Two minutes with your brother. No lectures, no fixing, just the truth.
Every week
The Table
Your team meets online: one honest round, what each man is fighting, what he is learning, and a short prayer together. Teams may also gather in person where they can.

The Team Chat
A private group for your team: prayer requests, announcements, books and talks worth your time, and the conversations that can’t wait until the next meeting.

What you commit to
A Battle Team is not a discussion club. Your brothers will be counting on you, as you will count on them.
- The daily call, every morning. Two minutes, the Two Questions, without exception.
- Show up to the table. Attend your team’s meetings, and tell your brothers when you can’t.
- Keep the Rule of Life. Faithfully, not perfectly. When you fall, get up. When you drift, return.
- Tell the truth. What is said in the team stays in the team. Performance is the disease this practice exists to cure.
- Serve. A hidden act of service for a brother each week, and works of mercy together under your parish.

Your Battle Team serves your parish life
A Battle Team never replaces your priest, your confession, or the Chalice. It walks beside them. Every man joins with his priest’s blessing, and the team’s job is to send him back to the sacraments more often, not less.

After you apply
What happens next
- You apply. Fill out the short application. It takes a few minutes.
- We reach out. A Brotherhood leader will contact you to talk about fit and timing.
- You are placed. Some Battle Teams are open to new men now, and new teams form as the Brotherhood grows. If no seat is open, you hold your place on the list.
- Give it a month. Keep the call, show up to the table, then decide with your brothers whether to keep going.
Questions
Before you apply
How much time does it take?
Two minutes every morning for the call, plus your team’s regular meeting. Teams set a rhythm they can keep for years. A table kept faithfully beats an ambitious one abandoned in four months.
Can I keep my Boot Camp call brother?
Yes, and you should. The daily call continues after Boot Camp in its lifelong form. A Battle Team is built on that call; it does not replace it. If you and your brother want to be placed together, tell us when we reach out.
Is it online or in person?
Battle Teams meet online, so distance is no barrier. Where men live near one another, teams are encouraged to share a meal, serve together, or attend a service side by side.
What if I fall, or drift away?
Come back. That is the whole point. No one is keeping your record. Your brothers measure faithfulness by how quickly a man returns, not by how rarely he falls.
